A Heart Rate Monitor without the Chest Strap: Oregon Scientific SE138

Oregon Scientific SE138I was with this friend and exercise buddy executing our usual cross training exercise for our Marathon run, when I noticed his heart rate monitor without chest strap. I began to realize that he was doing all our workouts with ease and comfort while I have to contend with an HRM attached to a constrictive and obsolete chest strap. He must have noticed me casting side-way glances and doing a slight scrutiny of his watch. Well I couldn’t be blamed the watch’s bearing was really that of good top running sports watch, not to mention its design and cool muted color.

It was then that he began to rave about how his Oregon Scientific SE138 Strap-Free Heart Rate Monitor delivered all his expectations from his workouts and daily cardio exercises without the troubles of any chest strap. He in fact mentioned that the heart rate monitoring system and caloric consumption data itself was super accurate along with scores of other functions. An efficient  sports watch that would allow him gain optimum training and acquire the best possible advantage from all his other workouts.

I felt so motivated by what he told me that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the same astonishing product. But anyway before I went online and surfed for the product in Amazon, he obligingly lent me his watch and HRM device for a full day exercise. I perused hands-on its product technological feature and experienced the comforts of working out with an HRM but without a chest strap. On the spot, I learned that all my workout needs were met in terms of effectively assessing the impact of physical exercise to my body. Other than that the SE 138 is a heart rate monitor without me having to contend with the inconvenience of an uncomfortable chest strap.

The old HRM I owned is composed of a wrist monitor followed by a chest belt then a sensor or transmitter strapped around the chest. Because the SE 138 is a heart rate monitor without a chest strap, it is a practical sports and fitness aid. It did away with most of the unnecessary contraptions that may inhibit freedom of movements. In just over an hour I realized that this handy and wearable HRM removed all guesswork from my cross training and workouts essential even for our up and coming Marathon runs.

What is also most important and convenient is that I don’t have to feel for any specific activation button for heart rate data acquisition. SE 138 works just by simply touching the metal sensors, making it among the more favored top running watch and practical than other models. Upon activating the metal sensors, the HRM is exhibited on the substantially sized LCD screen within seconds. This allows me to enjoy the full benefits of a heart rate monitor without an uncomfortable chest strap.  Along with the main feature of this strapless HRM comes a stopwatch and calories counter to help map out my workout progress and goals.
